We will sit down at a cafe to enjoy a chat over a coffee or tea first, followed by a gentle walk in nature.
Walking provides limitless benefits for our mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health and well-being. Proven to boost energy levels and mood. Everything just seems a bit easier when one is walking because we are moving our energy, which encourages new insights.

Meal Support Session Inclusions
90 Min Session
A 90 minute meal support session includes coffee, tea and a meal of your choosing. If there’s any time left over, we can go for a gentle walk afterwards in nature.
Locations in Brisbane: Scarborough, Sandgate, Wynnum, Mt Gravatt, Mt Coot-tha, Newmarket, and Wavell Heights.
Why a Meal?
We will sit down at a cafe to enjoy a chat over a coffee or tea first, followed by breakfast or lunch.
Finding enjoyment, pleasure and a sense of competency going through the process of ordering and eating a meal in a social situation can significantly reduce your feelings of anxiety and it will contribute to your willingness to trust yourself in future eating situations.

- 14 years working with “Eating Disorders QLD” including facilitating their 10 week recovery groups.
- 15 years running my own small group workshops.
- 16 years providing private consultations.
- 2+ decades working with hundreds of people with eating issues.
- I have also written a support manual to help you overcome overeating.

How long will it take?
Overcoming overeating is an incredibly individual experience.
It depends on a lot of factors including:
- Where you are right now?
- What you are willing to do for yourself?
- What you are willing to “receive” in the way of support?
- How determined you are to have a life free from the overeating cycle?
I can teach you the method I have created to connect with your deeper feelings and needs that preceded your overeating – your overeating is a symptom of the problem, it is not the problem itself. This skill alone has the potential to transform your relationship with food.

You will be working directly with me, I work 1 on 1 with clients and have been doing so since 1999.
It has been my life’s work to show you a way out of your pain.
Living with overeating is a very isolating and shame filled existence and you don’t have to live like that. I use the analogy of ‘walking beside you like a supportive friend’ while we work together, so you can find your own answers in your own time. That way, you get to own all of your own successes too.

There are a million reasons why we overeat and none of them are really about food, eating is our first response at self soothing.
We use food to numb the pain of difficult feelings that we think we can’t handle, and it works every time we use it.
As soon as we put food in our mouths we have forgotten about our pain.
However, there is no amount of food in the world that will ever be a satisfactory substitute for our missing emotional needs. A connection with our own feelings and needs and a full vocabulary to express our feelings and needs is what has been missing from our lives.
Overeating
is not the
Problem itself.
it is a symptom
of the problem,
A coping
mechanism.
My Approach – and the Bottom Line in Healing…
It’s been a long road to recovery and I have tried many different types of therapy in my search to feel whole and to heal the past.
I have discovered through decades of therapy and all my own trial and error, that the bottom line in what I do when I work with you, is attempt to help you understand your internal experience of shame, to know yourself better, and to make friends with your inner child.
Beyond that, the real journey this work will take you on is one of self-acceptance and I sincerely hope my work will help you to find yours – I do believe that’s why I am here.
